Construction Project Updates

Due to the faithful and generous donations of our supporters, particularly at Powerhouse Christian Church, we're constructing a permanent 50-bed facility to house the Petionville Children's Home. You can see all the latest updates on the project here, from an empty piece of land to the latest nail hammered down. Thank you to all those who are contributing to truly make this their home!

Bunk Beds and More!

The work on the new home is progressing as the needed funds come in. We were blessed to have a team from Alabama visit and give a hand building the needed bunk beds for the new children that will be taken in when the new room is finished.  Thanks to Jim Kane and his team for all their assistance!  You can see from the photos below the way the upper courtyard is shaping up and the great masonry work being done on the upper level of the building!

Construction Progress Continues....

With all of our 20 children now moved into the finished basement level of their new home, the work on the upper level continues. The pictures below show the work that still needs to be done. When the upper level is complete in the present project phase, the home will be able to accommodate approximately 50 children. The roof level will eventually be enclosed in the final phase of the project.

Thank You!

pastor wilson.jpgThank you so much for standing with us at Wings of Refuge Children's Home. We were so happy to move the kids into their new home on December 26th. I can see already the changes on their faces that they are so happy. In fact, I am too! We also want to thank Holly and her church for the generator which was a very big challenge to us. Thank you on behalf of Wings of Refuge of Haiti. God bless you.                                                                                                     --Pastor Wilson

Basement Interior and Exterior Finishing Work

The finishing work on the Basement Level of the new Wings of Refuge Children's Home has begun. Plans have changed a bit in order to be able to move the kids into their new home by November. The basement level will now house all 21 of the Wings of Refuge children. In order to accommodate them all, the kitchen will now be built outside. It is a very common occurrence in Haiti to have a kitchen facility right outside and nearby the main house. This will allow for more rooms to be built inside for the kids. The plastering of the interior and exterior walls has begun, pipes are being run for the plumbing, and electricity is being installed. The work is tedious, but pretty soon it will really start looking like "their home."
