All Wings of Refuge Children
Clifford Nazaire
Clifford is one of the sweetest boys you will ever meet. He is by far our best sharer in the group, and is always willing to give up what he’s playing with to one of his brothers & sisters. He is also very shy and has the cutest lisp you have ever heard! There is a special "way" about Clifford that is just indescribable. He does very well in school on campus with all of his brothers and sisters. His favorite thing to do is color. Even though he does get sick more often than we would like, Clifford always wants to participate in anything that we ask the kids to do. Clifford is a very special little boy and you can't help but fall in love with him.

Darvensley
Darvensley, aka DaDa, is the newest addition to the Wings of Refuge family. In November of 2011, Lynny (Pastor Wilson's son), was contacted by an acquaintance to come and see this family who was looking to find a better home for their new born baby, Darvensley. The father had just had a serious procedure and was in bad shape and penniless since he didn't have insurance. The mother was only nineteen and no where near ready to raise a child. She would actually leave the new born baby home alone on some nights so she could go out, leaving him unattended. When Lynny went to the house to see Darvensley, he looked malnourished. Even more disheartening, Lynny said, was that his eyes had such sadness in them... he was miserable.
Shortly after Lynny's visit, he approached Pastor Wilson & Stevenson (the director at WOR) about considering taking in Darvensley even though we had no intention of taking in any more children, let alone an infant. The rest is history...
Darvensley has now been with us since early November and is thriving! He is eating well and looks great. He does have anemia, but we have been trying to introduce more iron dense foods into his diet. Darvensley is one of the happiest babies you will ever meet. He is always smiling & laughing & loves attention! Taking him in has been as much a blessing to us as it has been to him.

Erinel Jeaugile
There are some people you meet in life who, when they smile, you can't help but smile. Erinel and his brother, Migelite, are two of those people and we love them dearly for the joy that they bring us. Both boys have been with us since we opened on May 22, 2011. They come from Port de Paix which is 6 to 7 hours away from Port Au Prince. Migelite (Age 8) and Erinel (Age 6) are the youngest in their family of 7 children. Their father left them when their mother was pregnant with Erinel and went to the
The boys have been doing so well since they got to Wings of Refuge and we could not be more proud of them. Erinel, aka Pastor, can be described in one word… INFECTIOUS! You just always want to be around him whether he is playing, laughing, singing, dancing, stretching with the kids (he is always doing the wrong thing and his balance is less than stellar - haha), or even sleeping. He just grabs your heart.
Erinel is fully sponsored. Thank You!

Fadelin Estile
Fadelin is a very special little boy. He was one of the last ones to come to Wings of Refuge, and has been a wonderful addition. Fadelin, like all great five year old boys, enjoys listening to what you tell him to do and doing the complete opposite! Fadelin is trying very hard in school and wants to learn. He has a little bit of a stutter and his teacher is working with him on that, but we think it's the cutest! Fadelin is so lovable and very affectionate. His big smile just makes your heart melt!
Fadelin is fully sponsored. Thank You!

Guirlene Sylla
Guirlene is our shy yet very sweet girl. She is definitely a girly girl and loves hanging out with all her sisters at Wings of Refuge and playing with their hair. Guirlene is also very bright and has already mastered the alphabet in English! She and her sister Jaunise are a wonderful addition to our family.
Guirlene is fully sponsored! Thank You!

Islande Jules
Islande is a joy to have here at WOR. She is always willing to help with things around the house as well as take care of the little ones. She had been to school prior to coming to Wings of Refuge so she is really ahead of the curve when it comes to academics. Islande never minds helping the other kids with their work after their school sessions. She attends school on campus with all of the other WOR children. Islande has such a beautiful way about her - very tranquil and serene. She is a beautiful girl both inside and out!
Islande is fully sponsored. Thank You!

Jaunise Sylla
Jaunise’s favorite thing to do is get her picture taken! As soon as she sees a camera, she goes into “diva” mode and starts flashing that beautiful smile of hers. While watching her, you can’t help but smile yourself. Jaunise is beautiful & bright. She now attends school on campus with all of our WOR children, and she is thriving!
Jaunise is fully sponsored. Thank You!

Jean Widmy Delva
Jovanesse & Widmy are two of our outstanding gentleman here at Wings of Refuge Children's Home. Jovanesse & Widmy are the two youngest boys in a family of ten; Jovanesse is 11 years old and Widmy is 9. Their father, Mr. Delva, works full time with little pay at a hotel in Petion-ville. While he is at work there is no one to watch the children so they wind up just wondering the streets with no supervision because their mother is mentally unstable due to the trauma of the earthquake last year. After the earthquake hit, she started to run around in the streets and was saying things that just didn’t make sense. Unfortunately, there are only a handful of mental facilities in
After one month of being in our care, we encourage the WOR parents/relatives to come and visit their children to see how they are doing and the progress they are making. Mr. Delva was so happy to see Jovanesse and Widmy in good spirits & good health. We had the pleasure of sitting and talking with Mr. Delva, and he was especially impressed with all that they have learned in such a short amount of time. During Mr. Delva's visit, he said that he wants a better life for Jovanesse and Widmy and he believes that WOR is the beginning of fulfilling that desire.
We are so blessed and proud to have Jovanesse & Widmy with us. Jovanesse is a very well-rounded young man who is always looking out for his Wings of Refuge brothers and sisters. He is always the first one to help with cleaning around the house.... yes cleaning! On top of it all, he is extremely intelligent and athletic. His little brother Widmy really looks up to him, but has a great personality of his own. He is more reserved, but is always watching and observing. He catches on so quickly with new games and schooling, it's amazing. Widmy is always respectful to his elders and the other children in the house. He too is very intelligent and athletic. We love these two boys like crazy and we know you will too!

Keslourna Mondilus
Keslourna came to us from one of the nearby tent cities and has been with us since September 2011. Having Keslourna is a blessing. She is one of the more shy girls of the family but makes the cutest face when she is being shy. She loves helping around the house. When Nana (our cook at WOR) is prepping for the next meal, Keslourna enjoys helping her and they chat for hours! Keslourna is like an old soul and we love that about her! She is also very bright and is now in school on campus with all of the other WOR children.
Keslourna is fully sponsored. Thank You!

Ketina Leapold
Ketina came to us from the same tent city as Keslourna and took the longest time to adjust when she came to Wings of Refuge. The reason for this is because when you have been in a tent city for so long, you are prone to stay in "survival" mode. When she first started living with us, Ketina was not used to the rules and being in a routine. For example, she sometimes hides things she is given because in her mind she needs to save it in case of an emergency. Ketina has made so much progress over the past few months though, and we are so proud of her. She is such a big help around the house, whether it be with cooking or cleaning. Even though she sometimes has a hard exterior, Ketina is also very loving and is one of those children who would do anything for you in return for love and attention. We are so happy to have Ketina as part of our family!

There are some people you meet in life who, when they smile, you can't help but smile. Migelite and his brother, Erinel, are two of those people and we love them dearly for the joy that they bring us. Both boys have been with us since we opened on May 22nd. They come from Port de Paix which is 6 to 7 hours away from Port Au Prince. Migelite (Age 8) and Erinel (Age 6) are the youngest in their family of 7 children. Their father left them when their mother was pregnant with Erinel and went to the Dominican Republic; no one has seen or heard from him since. For the past 5 years their mother has been doing her best to take care of all her children, but it was just too much. Their Aunt Fran goes to Pastor Wilson's church in Petion-ville, and when Pastor made the announcement that he was starting a children's home, she knew that this was the chance of a lifetime for the boys. We know that for Erinel & Migelite's mother to give us her children was a sacrifice. She put the well-being of her children before her own desires, and we do not take that lightly. It's so humbling to see this mother's love for her children.
The boys have been doing so well since they got to Wings of Refuge and we could not be more proud of them. Migelite is all smiles all the time! His laughter is simply contagious. He enjoys playing games and hanging out with the other boys in the house and has so much energy! Migelite is also doing very well in school.

Motha Clervin
Motha is a diamond in the rough. He doesn't go out of his way to be noticed, but once you get to know & talk with him, you see how special he is. Motha is very intelligent for his age and is doing very well in school. Sometimes he needs to be given a little extra nudge to study, but that's because he is a nine-year-old boy who would rather be playing soccer instead of studying. He also loves trucks & balloons. Motha is such a beautiful boy both inside & out and we are so excited to watch him reach his full potential with us at Wings of Refuge.

Naelka Guillaume
Naelka is our big sweet heart. Even though she is only four, she has a mature, motherly way about her that is indescribable. She is always looking out for everyone else and is the first one to kiss any new "boo boos" that her brothers & sisters may get. Naelka is also very bright and is doing extremely well in her home schooling, just like her big brother Renelson. She is usually helping (telling) Erinel & Fadelin the right answers during class. We enjoy the love and innocence that Naelka brings to our family dynamics at Wings of Refuge.
Naelka is fully sponsored. Thank you!

Renelson Guillaume
Renelson is a ball of energy! He is always laughing & playing jokes with the other kids at Wings of Refuge. At the same time he is very sensitive and caring, especially with his little sister Naelka. Renelson loves to be a part of everything and bounces around the house to make sure he doesn't miss out on anything. He is like a detective that is gathering intel on all of his brothers & sisters at all times. Renelson is a very sweet little boy and you can see that he is going to grow up to be an amazing man some day.
Renelson is fully sponsored. Thank you!
Sarah Bedjine Plaisimond
Sarah, aka Princess, has been with us at Wings of Refuge since we opened our doors. She is a beautiful & bright nine-year-old with a heartbreaking past. From the time she was born up until January 2010, Sarah was in a good home with two loving parents. On the day of the earthquake, tragedy struck. Her mother went to the store to buy Sarah a new pair of sandals, and she never returned.
Sarah's father had a full-time job at the time as a security guard for a company in Haiti. As a result, he had to give Sarah to her grandmother because he wasn't home often enough to take care of her. He did, however, visit Sarah as frequently as possible and supported her financially. Then in April 2010, just three short months after the earthquake, tragedy struck again. Sarah's father went to work one day and was shot to death on the job.
Sarah's grandmother had been taking care of her all this time, but knew she could not love and support her in the way she needed. She found out about WOR through a friend and decided that it would be the best place for Sarah. We are so blessed to have her with us at Wings of Refuge. Sarah is a beautiful girl with a loving smile. She is so smart and picking up English so fast! Sarah also has this undeniable motherly way about her and is always looking out for the younger kids at WOR. We love her so much and can't wait to see what the future holds for her.

Wilson Dorril
Wilson is an incredible dancer! We are pretty sure that when he was born, he came out dancing. He has such great moves and rhythm that when he dances, he looks 18 instead of 8. Dancing is such a great way for him to express himself and everyone loves to watch him. Wilson is a beautiful & bright boy. He continues to be schooled on campus this year along with all of his other brothers & sisters.
